Founded in 2025, ISHI is an interdisciplinary center to research, create, link, publish, and disseminate information about the global places, regions, and spatial networks where people have made meaning throughout time. ISHI also develops digital tools and infrastructure and is home of the World Historical Gazetteer (whgazetteer.org), which helps facilitate this work.
